This year, the Calgary Downtown Association hosted their second annual glow festival, a celebration of light, art and music in the heart of downtown. The winter festival consists of one of a kind installations, interactive light art commissioned by local, national and international artists, lighting projections, theatrical experiences, music and food trucks. The festival brings downtown Calgary to life in the heart of winter.
This year, we were excited to be the official warming station for the festival. For the entire weekend of glow, we hosted a glow-in-the-dark bowling alley on The Pioneer main floor. One of our preferred vendors, OneWest Events helped us transform our venue into a family-friendly area full of black light decorations, colourful chairs and of course our glow-in-the-dark bowling alley. We also partnered with local coffee shop, Monogram Coffee and with their help transformed The Mill into a pop-up warming cafe for the weekend.
We loved having thousands of people come into our space and bowl over the course of the entire festival. We can’t wait to see what the Calgary Downtown Association lights up for glow next year!
